Dissociative Identity Disorder (more commonly referred to as multiple personality disorder) can be very hard to diagnose in celebrities. Are there true personalities or is it just part of a persona they are trying to project? This list of celebrities with dissociative identity disorder includes people that have actually been diagnosed as well as others that just seem like they might be dealing with the disorder.
Adam Duritz from Counting Crows and Roseanne Barr are two of the more well-known diagnosed celebrities with dissociative identity disorder. Though she was not diagnosed while she was alive, many people believe that Marilyn Monroe could be included on a list of famous people with multiple personalities. And numerous other celebs (including Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj) speculated to be celebrities with multiple personality disorder. Are they just super creative in imagining these alter egos or do those alter egos actually exist in their minds?

As reported by ABC News, comedienne Roseanne Barr "first told the world that she has multiple personality disorder in 1994." As she explains, "It's not easy dealing with switching between 'Somebody' and 'Nobody,'" which are two of the names she has given to her seven personalities.

According to Daily Mail, sources close to Britney Spears claimed in 2008 that the singer was "suffering from dissociative identity disorder, which leads the sufferers to take on various personalities to dissociate them from reality." According to those sources, Britney was "said to have been showing a variety of different personalities. Besides "The British girl", other alter egos include "the weepy girl," "the diva," and "the incoherent girl."

People often cite Nicki Minaj's alter ego, Roman Zolanski, as proof that she is dealing with multiple personality disorder. As she told Out, "Roman is so flamboyant, so outspoken, so open, and, you know, creative." And as she told MTV News, “Everybody knows my favorite alter ego is Roman. [He’s] bad. That’s why I like Roman. I think I started liking Roman more because everybody else starting like Roman, so he became my favorite. People are expecting him to do some real craziness on the next album

It's long been suspected that Marilyn Monroe was suffering from dissociative identity disorder. As Healing From BPD explains, in looking at Monroe's life, it's speculate that the actress had "at least 5 of the 9 symptoms required for a BPD diagnosis," including: "identity disturbance" and "frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment."
Hershel Walker
In 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, pro football star, and Olympian Hershel Walker revealed in his book Breaking Free that he was living with dissociative identity disorder. "I didn't really learn about this until about 10 years ago," Walker told CNN. "My life was out of control. I was not happy, I was very sad, I was angry and I didn't understand why."-
Maybe it's just that she's extremely creative or outlandish and loves creating alter egos such as Jo Calderone. But as Celebzen explains, "many experts have come forward saying that Lady Gaga appears to suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder."

As Mel Gibson said in a 2002 interview with the BBC, he has an alter-ego named “Bjorn" that Gibson describes as "just ah, the kind of, like sort of, pillaging Viking." Some took this as a sign that Gibson is dealing with dissociative identity disorder.
